Mario's Biography
Architecture has been the passion for Mr. Mario Averhoff his entire life. Even from a very early age, his vocation for it was already very much defined. The splendid variety and rich architecture in Cuba, his native country, founded his willing to study and explore what he called “the absolute art”. He calls architecture in that way because he is totally assertive about its influence in human psychology, physical perceptions, and in all human social activities.
Graduated with supreme honors and with a golden diploma in 1987 from “Las Villas” University, in Santa Clara, Cuba, he started his career working for eight years in a variety of projects in La Habana, from low-income agriculture communities to high rise apartment buildings. During this period, he was selected by the National Board of Architects and Engineers of Cuba to participate as the Cuban representative in the Architecture Exposition for young architects in Lisbon, Portugal, in May 1994, as recognition to his brilliant development and talent.
In 1995 he decided to immigrate to the USA. Starting a new career from scratch wasn’t an easy task. After working for different architectural firms, always in Miami, he has been able to carve his name deeply in the design and construction stage of South Florida. Tenacity and talent are his two main attributes, and after taking some complementary courses at the Florida International University during his early years in the United States, he has developed an uninterrupted and accelerated successful career.
